This patient underwent a nipple preserving double mastectomy and DIEP flap breast reconstruction. She then had a second stage revision or part two where we performed a breast lift and fat grafting from her abdomen to give her an improved cosmetic shape, size and appearance of her breasts and belly and achieve a 'mommy makeover' look. Our goal after breast reconstruction is to achieve a result in which you cannot tell that you had a mastectomy and looks as good or better than before. Notice how the scar on her belly is kept low so that it can be hidden by her underwear or bathing suit just like it would be in a tummy tuck. A high scar is a common complaint of many woman who have had a DIEP flap procedure with other surgeons.
