A lot of people are looking for a more youthful appearance in their face, but either are not ready for surgery or they don't need surgery. And there are a number of options that we can use to rejuvenate the face non- surgically. These procedures include Botox. They include injecting fillers such as Juvaderm or Restalyn, and they also include fat injection. Additionally, sometimes in order to address the whole face and get a non- surgical rejuvenation, we also do procedures such as chemical peel and laser resurfacing. Most of these procedures are done in the office. Many of these procedures can be done either without any anesthesia or under local anesthesia. And most of them are very quick procedures with minimal to no downtime. Botox injection can reduce some of the lines on the forehead, around the eyes, or between the eyebrows. Those are the most common locations that we inject Botox. And fillers are often injected to the fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth or in the nasal labial folds of the cheek in order to increase the fullness of the cheeks and decrease some of these wrinkles or lines of animation. Very often, we do a combination of Botox and fillers, as well as laser resurfacing and fat injection. The goal of non-surgical facial rejuvenation is to be able to put off the surgery or to be able to take off the years for somebody who really isn't a good candidate for surgery or doesn't need to have surgery. These procedures often have to be repeated. Botox and injectable fillers sometimes are temporary, and that can be a added benefit, because if you don't like something, then it will wear off with time. The alternative is doing things that are more permanent, such as fat injection or semi- permanent fillers. These will last longer, and have a more permanent effect.
